Please welcome Jaime Castro-Salazar the Lead Planner on the Fire Dept.’s Facility Maintenance Division.
“Jaime is a University of La Salle (Bogota, Colombia) graduated in Architecture (BA) (in 2003), Master in Urban Planning, from the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras Campus (2009) and a second Master in Public Administration (2013) from the University of Texas at El Paso with a concentration in Urban and Regional Planning.
In addition, I have had the opportunity to work in the GIS Field applying database management and spatial analysis for UTEP (at SPIRES and Facilities Services Department) and also working for the City of El Paso with the Streets Department. As an urban planner, I had the opportunity to work as a planner at the City of Sunland Park for three years, dealing with zoning, annexations, subdivisions, grants application & management, including capital improvements plans; among other things.
For me it’s an honor and a privilege to be part of the El Paso Fire Department; I’ll be dedicated to the improvement and maintenance for all the facilities (current and proposed projects) along with the daily activities planned by the Oversight Program under the direction of the Planning Manager.”
Jamie will be visiting all of the stations soon. If you have a suggestion or a concern mention it to him. That information will help Jamie in his thought process on the upcoming projects.
