The Brown Advisory

Story by Jerry Villanueva MBA Deputy Fire Chief “B Shift”

Brown Advisory reached out to your El Paso Firemen & Policemen’s Pension Fund to share their new project about sharing the story of three clients in their upcoming annual report and wanted to pick for one of the stories an El Paso firefighter.  Brown felt as an investment manager in your pension plan, they consider each fire fighter to be one of their clients. Brown explained that they drew a great deal of pride in that responsibility and wanted to celebrate the courage and dedication of the El Paso Fire Department as one of the reasons they do what they do.  Brown wanted each of the three client stories to come to life as a photojournalistic essay about the person’s work and/or purpose. The essay would not focus on their relationship with Brown Advisory but highlight the dedication and sacrifices that fire fighters make in their life as a first responder.

Since this was coming from the pension fund it felt only right to have the three Fire pension Trustees nominate a fire fighter who everyone could be proud of.  After deliberation Lieutenant Esau Villegas was selected and agreed to the honor of representing the El Paso Fire Department and the El Paso Firemen & Policemen’s Pension Fund.
