Charles Edwards Lloveras

On Friday, June 21, 2019 Charles “Charlie” Edward Lloveras, 91, was called home by our Lord. He was born to Pablo Lloveras and Ofelia Madison Lloveras on November 20, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas. In his early years Charlie lived in San Diego, California, later moving to El Paso, Texas, where he graduated from El Paso High School. Charlie’s calling in life was to serve his community. Not only did he do this through his service in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force, as an ambulance driver, and as an El Paso Fire Department firefighter, but also in his day-to-day life. Charlie touched the life of each person he met, going above and beyond to help them in any way he could. Charlie was an avid handball and basketball player, bowler, and swimmer. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and watching boxing, tennis and college football on television. However, nothing was more important to him than his family. Charlie was a warm, kind and very giving man. Charles was preceded in death by his father and mother, wife Alicia, brother Paul, sister Carmen, and cousin Eddie. He is survived by his daughters, Margarita S. Mayorga and Charlene (husband Cesar Olivas), his grandchildren, Joseph Anthony Mayorga, Jr. (wife Debbie) and Melina Olivas, and his great-grandchildren, Joseph Anthony Mayorga III and Michael Alexander. His family would like to thank his caretakers for their kindness and devotion to him. In addition, we are eternally grateful to his doctor and our friend, Esteban Quirarte, and the El Paso V.A. Our dad, grandfather, uncle and friend will be greatly missed.
