The National Association of Fleet Administrators Institute recognized the City of El Paso’s Fire Department Fleet Maintenance division as one of 2019’s 100 Best Fleets in the Americas™.
This is the second consecutive year that the EPFD’s fleet is honored with this recognition.
The 100 Best Fleets program recognizes and rewards peak performing fleet operations in North America. Currently, in its twentieth year, 100 Best Fleets identifies and encourages ever-increasing levels of performance improvement within the fleet industry.
“This recognition speaks to the Fire Department’s ongoing commitment to provide efficient services to the residents of El Paso and their perseverance to the City’s vision of having safe and beautiful neighborhoods,” said City Manager Tommy Gonzalez.
The El Paso Fire Department’s staffing, resources, focus on preventative maintenance, and around the clock service capabilities distinguished the Department from other organizations.
Currently, the Department operates and maintains 162 vehicles. Each of the units receives regularly scheduled preventative maintenance, in addition to a full annual service increasing the fleet’s reliability. In the past year, the Fire Department has added six new units to the fleet, with several more coming down the line.
“This award provides an opportunity to showcase the exceptional work, and the higher standard the Fire Department Logistics division is delivering to our community. It’s not a coincidence that our Logistics team has been recognized for a second year in a row,” Fire Chief Mario D’Agostino said. “This is a team of professionals and this award reaffirms it”.
