The U.S. Honor Flag

The U.S. Honor Flag to Arrive in El Paso on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, to honor Deputy Peter Herrera.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, the U.S. Honor Flag will leave from North Platte, Nebraska to arrive ahead of funeral services for Deputy Peter Herrera of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, who died in the line of duty on Sunday, March 24, 2019. The U.S. Honor Flag team will escort the U.S. Honor Flag from North Platte, Nebraska to El Paso, Texas.

Deputy Herrera’s wife and family along with the Sheriff’s Office deputies will receive the U.S. Honor Flag with full honors upon arrival to El Paso. The U.S. Honor Flag will then be escorted to the funeral home and posted with Deputy Herrera until his interment.

            Since September 2001, the United States Honor Flag has paid tribute to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty protecting our lives, our homes and our country, and also those who currently serve our communities and our nation.

The Honor Network was founded on the conviction that every person who is committed in service to our communities and country deserves the support of every single American, and that an increase in American patriotism is vital in keeping our great nation united.
