Yesterday, the El Paso Fire Department responded to a Condition 3 Fire at a construction site located at the 300 block of Vin Rambla. Initial reports stated that workers were trapped in the top floor. However, all the workers were able to evacuate safely. After battling the fire, crews made sure that there were no hotspots remaining. No injuries were reported. EPFD investigators determined that welding sparks caused an insulation panel to catch fire. Damage estimates are not available at this time. During the incident, the Department’s Special Operations team deployed one of the sUAS (a.k.a drone) to help our firefighters assess the situation on the top of the building and assist at locating any hotspots. The Department would like to thank the El Paso Police Department, El Paso Water, and El Paso Electric for their assistance during the incident.
