Pumper 30 has recently joined the feet. To celebrate the occasion, the EPFD has adopted an old tradition called the “wet-down”. This tradition dates from centuries back, where firefighters coming back from a call would wash their trucks and then push them back into the station. Although, several versions of how wet-downs came to be, exist. Some of them even include pumping competitions between crews.
Members of the community attended the ceremony, and together with 30’s crews, welcomed the new Pumper into the fleet. This is the first wet-down that the El Paso Fire Department has done and it will certainly not be the last.
Welcome Pumper 30 !!
