As you all know, the Fire Department works with the Health Department to provide the city with free flu vaccinations.
This past week the Health Department stated that it would stop providing flu shots for the rest of the season. The announcement caused panic in the community.
However, the EPFD recently announced that it would continue with its own Vaccinations for Health program and provide vaccinations, and health screenings to the uninsured for free.
With more free clinics announced for the rest of the season, people poured to the Safety and Health Outreach Center for the first dates. January’s last clinic broke attendance records. Prompting the Fire Department to provide more days to the schedule.
Several media organizations, such as KVIA, KFOX and UTEP’s magazine have featured the Vaccinations For Health program on their stories. Positioning the Fire Department as a leading organization in public health throughout the city.
The Fire Department has scheduled two more months of clinics to help meet the needs of the public. The following links have the times and locations for each clinic.
