Every Year, the Fire Prevention Division and the American Red Cross hold the Annual Martin Luther King Walk to help bring fire safety awareness to the community.
In groups of two or more, EPFD personnel and Red Cross volunteers knock on every door of a neighborhood, offering to install smoke alarms and providing fire safety advice to homeowners. But, this year Animal Services joined in to support the effort.
Animal Services has been working on different events with the Fire Department to help spread the word about that the services they offer. At the MLK Walk, the AS team chipped pets and provided information in regards to pet care, they helped install smoke alarms as well.
Together, around 50 smoke alarms were installed, making the event a success. Welcome to the team, Animal Services!
